Safe Work Australia is inviting you to share your views on the development of guidance material to support changes to incident notification requirements under the model work health and safety (WHS) Act.
The changes to the model WHS Act are currently being drafted, with the aim of finalising amendments in early 2025. It is important to note that any changes will not take effect in a jurisdiction until implemented in the WHS laws of the jurisdiction.
To support duty holders understand the changes, Safe Work Australia is developing detailed guidance about WHS incident notification duties and what is and is not notifiable once the new requirements have been implemented.
We want to ensure duty holders, including persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs), have access to useful guidance to help them understand their incident notification duties and create resources that improve workplace safety outcomes. Your insights can help ensure that Safe Work Australia’s guidance material supports this goal.
