Notice – privacy and disclosure of responses 

By responding to this survey, you are allowing us to collect personal information about you. Please review this notice before submitting your response. 

We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. The Privacy Act regulates how we may collect, use, disclose and store personal information. Our privacy policy provides further information about how we handle personal information. 

We use technology by Converlens Pty Ltd to manage this website and deliver this survey. Our contractual arrangements require Converlens to comply with the Privacy Act and store data securely in Australia. 

What personal information will be collected 

Personal information means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. The information or opinion does not need to be true, nor does it need to be recorded in a material form. 

By submitting a response to this survey, you consent to the authority collecting personal information provided in your response. 

This may include: 

  • your contact details, including a representative capacity in which you have engaged with the Climate Change Authority 

  • your opinions about the engagement process employed by the Climate Change Authority. 

If your response includes personal information of another individual, you must obtain their consent to provide it and inform them of the matters set out in this notice. 

How we will use and disclose your personal information 

The Authority will use any personal information provided in survey responses to: 

  • analyse and report upon its performance, including against its key performance indicators as part of the Commonwealth’s annual reporting process 

  • inform how future engagement processes will be shaped 

  • contact you about your response, including for further engagement, information, feedback or to conduct a further survey (either by us or our representative) inform you about the outcomes of this survey and/or other matters that we consider may be relevant to you, and for related purposes 

  • contact you for communications purposes if you select to opt in at the end of this survey. 

We may disclose, on a confidential basis, personal information contained in survey responses to our agents, advisors or contracted service providers for purposes related to the above. We may also disclose your personal information where authorised or required by law. We will seek your further consent if we wish to disclose the information in other circumstances. 

Public disclosure 

Your survey responses will not be published in a way that identifies you. Any publication by the Authority of material derived from responses will be in de-identified and aggregated form.
